Site C0006 targeted the main frontal thrust at the seaward edge of the accretionary wedge to investigate history and mechanism of development of the thrust. Drilling was stopped before reaching to the thrust zone due to poor hole condition.

Deformation zone in lithological Unit III. Many fractures and tectonic breccias dominate in this zone.
Unit III consists of greenish gray to grayish silty clay with some interbedded volcanic ash. The age of this unit is late Miocene-early Pleistocene.
